Miracle Morning: How Do You Set the Table?

In life, just like on today’s miracle morning, how you live is often determined by how you set the table. What are you doing this morning to prepare you for a better afternoon and evening?

How are you setting the table that is your life?

The table and chairs pictured here greeted me this morning during my miracle morning walk. Several thoughts went through my mind as I saw the table and chairs. At first, I thought about how do you set the table? Next, the church girl in me remembered the saying “He will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies.”  It was an interesting set of miracle morning thoughts, to say the least.

When I thought about the idea of setting the table, I thought about preparation. All the experts say that you revise your task list at the end of each day. They advise you to transfer over to the next day things that were not completed. Do you do that? How often do we take the time to prepare for the day before we begin it?

Go to the *** below for a description of the Miracle Morning Routine.

When I thought of the idea of someone preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies I thought about how I deal with competition. No matter what we do, we all have competition of some sort. Businesses have competing businesses. Spouses have people interested in adultery who want to compete with them. Children compete with each other for their parents’ attention. Life is full of competition.

Miracle morning idea - The table and chairs pictured above greeted me this morning during my miracle morning walk.

All of these thoughts and ideas made me remember that I cannot control other people.  I cannot control is my spouse, my children, my customers, or my prospects. The only person I can control is myself.

Each day is like an empty table. When we awake in the morning we have a table before us and we can set it any way we like. We can be utilitarian and do only what’s necessary. That means we can do the bare minimum to survive. Or we can be fancy. In other words, we can get dressed and our best clothing, our best attitudes, and face the day with a smile. We have a choice. It is a wonderful thing to have a life that starts each day as an empty table.

Opportunity is a gift. Celebrate it’s your choice. Try to see opportunities, even the troubles that will greet us with a whole new attitude. That attitude can be that we are conquerors. Believe as I heard on the TV show “Queen Sugar,” the devil I know the devil I don’t know I’ll conquer them all. Use your miracle morning routine to set the table for a successful and happy day.

*** What the Miracle Morning means in my world.***

the devil I know the devil I don't know I'll conquer them all.

Recently, I decided to start a Miracle Morning routine. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept, it involves getting up a little earlier in the day. The day starts with you doing SAVERS. To translate that into English, it means:

Silence

Affirmation

Visualization

Exercise

Read

Scribe

In my world, I start with spirituality – I read my Bible and pray. Next, I read or write affirmations. I do a lot of work dealing with creating confidence so I read my creating confidence affirmations or spend time creating 1 or 2 more. For visualization, I spend time picturing what will make the day successful.

The exercise involves me taking a 20-minute walk around the neighborhood. After my walk, I read. I created a reading list for the mornings. This is a list of books, I want to read for pleasure, for enrichment, or because I need to read them. Finally, it is time to scribe or write. I have decided to turn the things I think about on my walks into blog articles for my scribe activity.

Stay tuned for our next installment in the Miracle Morning series.
