Grilled Pork is Good Everyday – Don’t Wait for a Holiday

During the summer months when the weather is warm, thoughts naturally turn to cooking outside and throwing something on the grill. Some of us are not blessed with the skills and talents to make delicious meals with next to nothing. Those of us need a little help. Pork is a great meal choice if even if cooking is not your strong suit.  One of my favorite and dare I say easiest  ways to kick up grilled pork is to marinate it in Italian salad dressing. After day camp, summer school or work, grab any pork chops – center cut or bone in. Throw the chops in a big bowl and cover them with Italian dressing. Let the chops sit in the bowl soaking up the dressing while you cook the other items for your meal.  Grill the chops for 3 to  minutes on each side and then enjoy the delicious! if the weather is rainy, pull out your electric grill and the deliciousness will be ready in 5 minutes flat.

Add a little BBQ sauce to your grilled pork chop to kick things up a few notches.

If you don’t have pork chops, but have a pork roast that has been sitting in the refrigerator waiting for Sunday dinner, set that roast free give it the Italian dressing treatment and put it on the grill. You will be amazed at how quickly you have a delicious, moist, easily made main dish. One of the things I like about pork is that it is easy to find lots of lean no fat or low-fat choices which make it a healthy choice. Pork chops are my favorite to make for dinner because they are ready portioned, easy to handle and it is easy to make enough for one or six! 1. That was a meal made for the kids – boxed mac and cheese, steamed broccoli and the grilled pork – quick and easy even for the picky eaters!

  2. I love pork, especially on the grill. I’ve been experimenting with new rubs and seasonings to mix things up a bit. I love that you talk about the versatility since it’s so easy to get bored with the same old dishes. Yay pork!!

  3. We grill year round and there’s something about grilled pork chops! I’ve never tried the marinade with pork chops – I will definitely try that soon. Your chops look scrumptious!

  4. Pork has a good history with me. I remember when I was young I would hate getting my hands dirty when I ate; I would cry a lot (I was really young)! It wasn’t until I had ribs for the first time that I could really understand the very necessary mess to enjoy some good pork! Also, I’ve never been sad while eating a pork chop .
