When life gives you lemons, make some lemon chicken, lemon cake and lemon air freshener with the leftovers.
A friend recently wrote that when life gave her lemons she used to pelt them at people and now she uses the lemons for other purposes. I have adopted that policy. My to-do list is long, my responsibilities are steep and life is full of all kinds of stuff that is not pleasant. I am going to take all these lemons and use my best efforts on all I have to do, and in doing so I am going to turn my lemons into terrific things. It is all a matter of attitude. I cannot change the to-do list. I cannot change how other people act. All I can do is control myself and how I react, so I am turning those lemons into something amazing.
The to-do list is no longer a horrible thing. I now see it as many opportunities to do terrific jobs on a variety of tasks. I keep my to-do list in electronic form so I can easily access it. I also like to be able to move things and adjust due dates as necessary. What I have come to realize is that I create my to-do list. It is not the other way around. Since I create the to-do list, I am the boss of it, not the other way around. This means that the to-do list is not a horrible thing I have to be afraid of or angry about. That knowledge is a relief and a comfort.

My responsibilities are no longer burdens I must carry, instead, they are opportunities to do terrific for those to whom I owe a duty. All those chores and jobs I don’t want to do are no longer a pain in the rear instead, they are an opportunity to showcase my skills and my ability to make the sub-par terrific. I am a wife, a mother, a friend and an entrepreneur. Each of those roles comes with responsibilities and obligations. At the same time, each of those roles is a blessing. There are people all over the world who wish they had those roles and obligations. When I started looking at all those obligations and responsibilities as a blessing and not a problem, things changed. I began to have a better attitude and do a better job of handling my obligations and responsibilities.
Every day is a day to celebrate lemons and the things they allow us to create! Take a moment now and look at your life. Are there any lemons you can turn into make some lemon chicken, lemon cake and lemon air freshener.
