BL252014-Philly-WebAd-200x200When was the last time you had fun with your family? I mean real fun, not edutainment, not sitting through another recital or work event, but real fun. For many people, it has been a while. This week my family and I are in for a treat. We are going to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to attend a performance of the Ringling Brothers Circus! I am excited because I have not been to a Ringling Brothers performance since I was a child and my children have never been. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with them.

Families today spend a lot of time on business. For parents it is the business of working and providing a home. For children it is the business of school, scouts and recitals. All these things are important and they are part of what make life possible and even interesting. At the same time, there should be more to life than just business. It is important that we take time out to live, to enjoy life and to laugh together as a family.  That is why things like going to a Ringling Brothers performance are important. I am going to the performance on February 12,2014. The following are the dates for the Philadelphia performances: February 12 through February 16.

Readers who comment will be selected at random to win tickets to one of the following performances:

Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 pm      BL252014-Philly-WebAd-200x200 2

  1. I have not been to the circus sine my son was in Kindergarten. They use to go with school.

  2. I’ve only ever been to a Ringling Brothers circus once, and it was a long time ago. It’s generally the Shrine Circus that comes here, and that came to where I grew up. This would be fun if I lived in Philly!

  3. I haven’t taken my kids to the circus, yet. But, I have been to Ringling Brothers before and they do put on quite the show!

  4. We use to go to the circus every Thanksgiving when I was younger. I wish it was a tradition that my husband and I still did but they just don’t come close enough to us 🙁

  5. I remember going to the circus with my family as a little girl. I haven’t been in YEARS! I really want to take my daughter to experience it for the first time. We have been to the smaller local circus events in our neighborhood but not the Ringling Brothers.

  6. I remember going to the circus as a kid and it just seemed so awesome! And bringing my kids to the circus was even better! They were here in January, but we did not make it this year. 🙁

  7. I have heard the Ringling Bros circus is so good. It’s nice it’s right before Valentine’s Day. 🙂

  8. i’ve never been to this circus. can you believe that? maybe this year

  9. I have never taken my kids to a circus. I remember going as a child, and they have some animal shows around here, but havnt seen a circus in forever!!

  10. I love love love the circus. We will definitely be going when it arrives in Milwaukee! We live close to Baraboo and the Circus Museum – one of our favorite things to do is visit there.

  11. Sounds fun and exciting! I cannot think of the last time I went to see the circus. I mean, it has been that very long time ago. It would surely be nice to see another circus though.

  12. It has been many years since I have seen the circus! I love seeing all of the animals and the fantastic tricks the acrobats can do

  13. I’ve truly never seen the Ringling Bros before. One of the things I always said I’d love to do. Wish I was in Philadelphia.

  14. I have NEVER been to the circus and it’s something I definitely want my little guy to experience. There’s something so magical about it and every little kid needs to go! I don’t know who would be more excited though…me or him, haha!

  15. Don’t enter me as I don’t live near there, but I do remember their circuses over the years. The acrobatic acts and clowns were always fun. I don’t like the animal acts, but the daredevil stuff rocks.

  16. I remember going to see Ringling Bros in Philadelphia when I was growing up. I need to take my little kids to the circus. I think they would thoroughly enjoy it. I once took my oldest kids to a circus in Ukraine. It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever gone to!

  17. We are supposed to go to the Ringling Bros. show here in Atlanta on Wednesday evening. I’m hoping the weather doesn’t prevent us from going because my 3 year old is really looking forward to the show.

  18. I miss going to the circus. I really wish there were more chances to enjoy this extravagant event.

  19. Oh, I loved the circus when I was a kiddo! I wish Ringling Bros would travel up in our area! My girls would love it!

  20. It’s been several years since I took my boys to a circus. They loved it and we hope to go again soon.

  21. Wow! To tell you the truth, I never been into any circus yet. So what I know about it is based on what I see on TV. I believe it is really a fun and great place to be in. I would certainly would love to try going to a circus. 🙂

  22. My son isn’t old enough to go to the circus quite yet. However, we went to the fair and he LOVED the animals!

  23. We took our then-almost-two-year-old last spring and he LOVED the elephants. I’m definitely looking into taking him again this year!

  24. Now that’s one way to have family fun! I would love to see a real circus… hope you will all have fun!

  25. Oooh, what fun… we haven’t been to a Ringling Brothers Circus in years… hopefully they will be stopping by San Antonio, Texas, LOL

  26. I haven’t been to a circus since I was a kid, and my kids still have yet to see one. Can’t wait to take them for the first time 🙂

  27. We just saw Ringling Bros. Built to Amaze 2 weeks ago, and it was truly awesome! My three year old son had a great time! The performances are always breathtaking!

  28. I’m not sure how, but when I was little, somehow I was selected out of the audience to be IN this circus. I got to ride around on the little train with a few other kids and a bunch of clowns. Wish I remembered it – I was only about 3. I’ve seen pictures though. Great thing to do with kids!

  29. I love the circus! I am curious to what age is appropriate to take my daughter. She enjoys the zoo, so would like the animals, but wondering if two is too young. I definitely want to share a Ringley Bros. experience wither her, since I still recall circus memories with my parents:)

  30. I haven’t been to the circus in years! Such good memories come to mind. I think eating popcorn and watching the trapeze acts were my favorite things. You’re right about families needing to take time away from business. The circus could be a great opportunity for that. You can’t really go to the circus in a business suite and work on your laptop. I guess technically you could, but then you’d look a bit awkward LOL I would LOVE to go on Wednesday February 12th!

  31. How fun! What a great experience to share with your family. I haven’t taken any of my children to a circus either and hope to do so this year – especially since my youngest is old enough to recognize animals and say their names now. Enjoy!

  32. We don’t really attend circus’ but I hope your family has a great time. Ringling Brothers has been in business a long time, I’m sure they put on a fantastic show!

  33. My family and I had a ball at the circus! I like the animal acts as well as the high wire performers. This is a great way to get the family out for the night. We love attending!

  34. We go the the circus yearly. My kids enjoy it so much and I pretty much feel like its not a good year unless we see a good circus. I love the whole fun atmosphere.

  35. I so want to take my kids to this if they come to NH again, because I recall going with my aunt and uncle when I was little and it was such a fun experience!

  36. The last time we attended the circus my son was four. He is now fourteen. That year was historical for Ringling Brothers Circus because Andre McClain became The Ringmaster. My darling daughter (age ten) would loves to go. I would love for her to that incredible experience.

  37. I totally love Ringling Brothers Circus!!! It’s always so amazing!

  38. I haven’t been to the circus in so long…. I can’t even remember. I am glad you let me know they were coming because I would love to take my daughter…

  39. Wish were a little closer to Philly, I’d totally bring the little guy. I love the circus and can’t wait to have my son experience it for the first time. The trapeze artists are my favorite. Enjoy the show!

  40. Oh I can’t wait until they make it to my city. I love the circus. Brings back so many memories. I wanted to be a trapeze artist. And I remember visiting my relatives in Sarasota during Christmas time as a child and seeing the Ringling Bros. Trains as they were home for winter break. Have fun!

  41. I love the circus! The kids were really small the last time we went, but they are coming to Atlanta so I was thinking of taking them. I hope you guys have fun!!

  42. I took my pumpkin to the circus when she was little. she had so much fun!

  43. Now what can be more fun and exciting than a circus! If you are a kid you are mesmerized and if you are an adult it reminds you of your childhood. The foods you eat are also part of the atmosphere. Ringling Brothers continues to improve the experience that’s why it stands the test of time. Chances are if you went to a circus as a kid this one was it. Thanks for the incredible memories!
