What Inspires You – Find Your Inspiration

You can find serenity by discovering what inspires you. Inspiration is often defined as the process of being mentally stimulated to do something or to feel something. Inspiration is often thought of in relation to something creative. When I think of inspiration, I think of something that gives a little push to someone to get them to take a leap. It is important to find out what inspires you to do your best and move forward. Sometimes, life gets hard and when it does, work must continue, life must continue, family responsibilities must continue. Perhaps it is when life gets hard inspiration is most crucial. When life is hard and you are afraid, you must put on your big girl panties and your fake it until you make it dress, dig deep, find your inspiration and move.

Some sources of inspiration are common to all human beings:

  • Survival
  • Satisfy hunger
  • Need to take care of one’s children
  • Desire for continued employment
  • Sense of pride

If you do not know what inspires you, sit down, look back over the course if your life and see what if was that kept you going. Those things are your inspiration. Look back over the course of your life at the times you took a chance and did something new and exciting. The thing that pushed you to do it was your inspiration. If you have ever accomplished something when everyone around you was telling you it couldn’t be done or couldn’t be done by you, the thing that pushed you to get it done was your inspiration.

Each of us has things that inspire us. What inspires me will not necessarily inspire you. For example, I am inspired by:

  • My faith in God
  • Desire to please my husband
  • Wanting to see my children smile
  • Desire to be better than my best each day

In conclusion, you can find serenity by discovering what inspires you. Whatever it that inspires you, hold onto it and treasure it. The things that get you going and keep you moving are your treasures, they are precious commodities. Identify them and keep them close so you can pull them out when needed. So, the question for you this serene day is what inspires you?
