Smiling African American woman and the words "3 Reasons to Be Grateful for Work"

This article will give you three reasons to be grateful for work. these reasons are it enables you to provide for your family, have something to do each workday, and help make the world a better place.

Each weekday morning, people all over the world get up and prepare to spend a significant portion of the day at work. Many of these people are4 miserable at their places of employment. If you are one of those people, I encourage you to get a new attitude about work. There are at least three reasons why you should be grateful for work. These three include the following:

1. Work enables you to provide for your family.
2. Work gives you something to do each day.
3. Work is a way to make the world a better place.

Wake up in the morning determined to go to work and be glad that you can provide for your family.

There are many reasons why people work. One of the most important and one of the most common is the need to provide for one’s family. If you are a person with a spouse, children, pets, and other similar responsibilities, you need money to honor those responsibilities. Housing costs money. Food costs money. Clothing costs money. Entertainment costs money. When one goes to work, one earns a salary and is able to provide those things for one’s family.

When you look at your work as a way of providing for your family rather than as a nuisance that keeps you away from your family, you have a new and different appreciation for it. A thing that does nothing but keep you away from your family is a thing to be despised, hated, and shunned. On the other hand, a thing that provides for your family deserves respect, admiration, and appreciation. It is all about attitude. When you have a proper attitude toward your work, you will feel better about going to work each day. When you feel better about going to work, you are more likely to do a better job and feel better about the work you do.

So, starting tomorrow morning, get up and be grateful for your work because it helps you to provide for your family and that is something that deserves a show of gratitude.

Be grateful for work because it gives you something to do each workday.

In order for life to have meaning and to truly be worthwhile, it needs to serve a purpose. Work provides a purpose to life. Of course, work is not our sole purpose for living. But, it cannot be denied that work does provide a purpose. It gives us a thing to do and a place to do it. It doesn’t matter if a person works as a housekeeper in a hotel or as the chief executive officer of a Fortune 500 company, work provides purpose. A thing that provides a purpose, makes a person necessary. A thing that makes you a necessary part of the world must be respected and appreciated.

Take a moment now to think about the work you do. No matter what that work is, it is not done in a vacuum. Your work is part of the larger economy. When you earn money from the work you do, that money is spent and invested. That means that other businesses are able to earn and invest money. The work you do makes it both necessary and possible for others to have jobs.

The ability to get up and have work to go to each workday is a thing to be treasured. Activity that causes you to use your mind and your body is a good and great thing that should be appreciated. Do not shrink away from the idea of getting up and going to work. Indeed the ability to have work, to have something to do is a thing to be treasured and appreciated.

Be grateful for work because it is a way for you to make the world a better place.

One might think that one’s work only makes the world a better place if one does charitable work. It is easy to see how teachers, lawyers, doctors, and those running charitable organizations that benefit the less fortunate make the world a better place. What is not as obvious is that every person who gets up, goes to work, and puts forth their best efforts is making the world a better place. The work you do is witnessed by others. Whether you realize it or not, you are a role model. Those who see you at work observe your work, your attitude, and how you conduct yourself. If you carry yourself with dignity, honor, and work with diligence you provide an example of excellence that all who encounter you.

Role models examples and models of good and great behavior are treasures. They make the world a better place. There is honor in being one of those persons. So when you think of work, start thinking of work as a place where you go to make the world a better place. This is true, no matter what kind of work you do.

Now that you know there are at least three reasons to be grateful for work, the question for you is, why are you grateful for your work?
