No doubt about it, it is scary to step up to the plate and work to make your dreams come true. The idea of stepping up raises many serious and frightening questions. These questions include:

  • what if I am not good enough
  • what if I bit of more than I can chew
  • what if no one wants to buy what I am trying to sell
  • what if I cannot make it work

There are no easy answers to these questions. When they come to mind, push them aside and ask different questions instead. Ask questions like:

  • what if I do a great job
  • what if this dream is perfect for my talents and abilities
  • what if customers love what I have to offer
  • what if I am a complete success at this

Sometimes, if you want to work to make your dreams come true, you have to ignore the negative voices in your head and in the mouths of those around you. There will be times when you have to just do the work while you fake it until you make it. SImply faking it until you make it is not what it takes. You must fake it until you make it while you are working to achieve your dreams and get things done. Faith without work is dead. So, have faith in your ability to make your dreams come true. Maintain that faith no matter what those around you say. At the same time work, work hard and work smart so that you may achieve your dreams.

In order to make your dreams come true, you must work each day toward achieving your dream. If you are serious about making your dream come true, you will find time to work on it. On the other hand, if you are not truly serious, you will find excuses. No matter what your words and business plans say, your actions will show the truth of what is in your heart. Don’t worry that you cannot work full-time toward making your dream come true. Take the steps you can. Start where you are and go forward from there.

Even if you work a full-time job and dream of starting a business of your own, you can work on it in pieces. It doesn’t matter if you only have a few hours per week to put toward your dreams. Those hours are going to pass whether you are working on your dreams or not, so spend the time working on your dream. You can work on your dream:

  • early in the morning, before the rest of the family gets up
  • during your lunch hour
  • after work
  • late in the evening after the family has gone to bed
  • on your days off
