Take Action Now – Take a Look in a Book

learn to TAN in a book www.janeanesworld.com

It is magnificent to take action now and to know you can read a book to learn how. In order to get things done, one must learn to TAN aka take action now. All the planning, research, and preparedness training in the world will accomplish nothing until a person steps up and takes action. The following is my favorite example of the take action now principle.

Five birds were sitting on a telephone wire when three of them decided to go to Florida for the winter.
Question: How many birds were left?
Answer: Five because deciding to do something is not the same thing as actually doing something.

It is important to plan, to research and to prepare for whatever it is you want to do. The problem is that many people spend so much time on those steps that they never get to actually doing the thing that is the cause for all the planning, researching and preparing. One of the reasons that people do not take action now and get things done is that they do not know how. While this is a legitimate reason for failing to act, temporarily, it is no excuse. If you are in a position where you need to take action now, but do not know how to take action now, pick up a book and learn what you need to know.

Once upon a time, long, long ago, the only place a person could get books was to buy them in person at the local bookstore or borrow them at the local library. Fortunately, things have changed for the better. Today you can get books online. Technology makes it possible for us to get books on our computers, laptops, tablets and cell phones. No matter what your work hours are, technology enables you to shop for books so that you can buy them in paper, electronically or borrow them from your local library 24 hours per day, seven days per week and even on holidays.

I remember as a young girl discovering microfiche and being amazed at how many pages of information could be stored in such a small package. As a young girl, I dreamed of having my own microfiche to carry around in my book bag. Today, I carry an e-reader with 1,000 books, magazines and documents in my purse. The e-reader program on my smartphone has another 75 books. My tablet device is new, so it only has 10 books so far, but don’t worry. It will catch up to the others shortly. The information I once dreamed of carrying in my book bag is now tucked away in my pocket!

Of course, there are books on every subject under the sun. No matter what you need help learning how to take action to do, you can find it if you take a look in a book. Let today be the day that you take action now and pick up a book to learn how to take action now. Imagine all the good you can do and all the wonderful things you can accomplish once you start to read books and learn how to take action now to accomplish your goals and missions.
