This poem is a quick down and dirty statement of the idea that you only live once and life is hard so a person should do some things she enjoys while she is alive. We are all born and we all die. Those things are givens that we are powerless to change. What we can do, is take some time to live, to love and enjoy the blessing that life is while we are living it. Keep in mind, life is short and life is long. Life is too short to miss opportunities that are presented to us. At the same time, life is too long to spend our days in regret for opportunities we have missed. Get up, live your life and enjoy it as you do.
